President Jeff Barber is as busy as the proverbial "one armed paper hanger", as he works to satisfy Rotarians and visitors on ZOOM, while being cognisant of the 15-20 Rotarians in the room watching his every move as he tries to keep the "paper straight and hanging" - no small challenge. However, the buffet was visited; attendees were fed; members welcomed; the land was acknowledged; with Allen Hillsden's help, O' Canada was sung; and, it was determined that Jean-Marc Nadeau did not win the 50/50.
When all this was accomplished, Preident Jeff called on the Club's Program Arranger, Jeanne Alexander, to introduce our Guest Speaker, Jayne Whyte. We learned that Jayne researches, writes and speaks on issues relating to mental health and the history of mental health services in our Province. In 2012 the Canadian Mental Health Association (Saskatchewan) published Privot Points: A fragmented history of Mental Health in Saskatchewan. Jayne used her experience as a consumer of mental health services, and now as a senior, as she searched the archives. Jayne's Bio makes this helpful observation: Jayne is curious about many things but concentrates her research on disabilities, poverty, and women’s issues.She plans to write more from the journals of her journey through more than 50 years of using mental health services for her own healing and the observations along the way. "I decided to notice what people do right."
Jayne drew a number of parallels between the work of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and Rotary International and the focus and work of the Rotary Club of Regina Eastview. She reminded us of the CMHA Branches; which feed into the Divisions (Provinces and Yukon); which feed into the National level. She touched on what she referred to as the four "Pillars of Recovery" - Health - managing one's disease; Home - a stable and safe place; Purpose - a job, school, volunteerism creative endeavours, etc.; and, Community - relationships and social networks which provide, "support, friendship love and hope".
Jayne touched on the focus of Recovery Colleges where growth, hope, choice and empowerment are identified and establish a framework where goals can be set and processes of achievement are monitored and celebrated.
In her concluding comments she drew attention to the various noon hour and evening programs they are holding throughout February and the following months.

2023-24 RI Presidential Theme
Rotary International President-elect Gordon R. McInally revealed the 2023-24 presidential theme, Create Hope in the World, during the International Assembly in Orlando, Florida, USA, 9 January. McInally, a member of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry, West Lothian, Scotland, asked members to restore hope by helping the world heal from destructive conflicts and create lasting change within ourselves. McInally told attendees he plans to make mental health a focus and emphasized continuity in advancing the goals of previous leaders, including empowering girls and eradicating polio. The Family of Rotary
It was a day where celebrating our Rotary Family was a highlight.
We were reminded of Jean-Marc Nadeau's Presidential leadership provided in 2020-2021, when Ann Grahame presented him with a picture album noting highlights of a 12 month year of COVID 19 isolation;
We witnessed President Jeff presenting Jean- Marc with a pin to recognize our Past President's commitment to TRF's Annual Programs Fund as a Multiple (X 2) Paul Harris Fellow
President Jeff muttered something about presenting himself with a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow Award, but he chose not to do this with all of us watching - so you will see something on this in next week's ROTOR.

FELLOWSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
Past President Pat had the opportunity of dusting off her Sergeant-At-Arms skills and commenced this task by fining Jean-Marc for some unclear indiscretion which the two of them understood;
All on-line members were fined $2.00 for not being in the room with the other 50% of the meeting’s attendees - it was nice to see your involvement;
The in-room attendees received a Rotobuck as did those who had purchased GALA Dinner tickets;
Allen Hillsden had a Happy Dollar as he has been asked to officiate at his Granddaughter's wedding this summer - the wheels are in motion to be provide Allen with this Authority by the Manitoba Government.- what a thrill;
As a concluding shot, Sergeant Pat was allowed to share her "rant" - seems there is Mortgage misinformation "out there", which needs to be addressed or at least corrected;
As I understand if you have a Mortgage question or concern, please share this concern with a "mortgage professional" - chances are really good that it is not the end of the world;
Wishing you all a safe and relaxing weekend - remember to wear a light jacket on the weekend, seems it is going to be a little cool.
