THE EARLY CHILD INTERVENTION PROGRAM WITH JENNIE BRYANT!
We were fortunate today to have Executive Director of ECIP present to tell us about this exceptional program. Jennie provided the details and significant scope of ECIP. The program is funded by The Saskatchewan Ministry of Education to provide specialized services to families of young children between birth and school entry who are either at risk for, have a diagnosis of, or exhibit developmental delay.
An individual Family Service Plan is developed in collaboration with each family. Consultation, information, support and services designed to meet the individual needs of each child and family are delivered in the child’s home and may extend to community based programs. Core services include: family support and capacity building, child development, case coordination and transition support and community development and partnerships. Other services are numerous including: home visits, therapy visits, screening clinics, play groups, virtual workshops, toy and resource book library, parent networking and educational workshops, referrals to other agencies, and coordinating additional supports.
At any one time in Regina, and areas within a 2 hour radius, ECIP serves 150 families plus 200 children in 18 First Nations communities. The program serves over 2000 children within the province.
Thank you for visiting Eastview today, Jennie, and telling us about this worthwhile program which Eastview proudly supports. Another example of the wonderful work being done in our community by dedicated, knowledgeable staff.

Helping families everyday
On Thursday, May 5, 2022, the Rotary Club of Winnipeg West hosted the first of two virtual evenings--a new format for the Rotary District 5550 Conference.—Our Youth, Our Future. This supports the Rotary theme for May which is YOUTH. The evening opened with remarks by former football greats Troy Westwood and Andrew Greene and their perspective on the impact of sport on child poverty and featuring KidSport Canada. Other session speakers also spoke on issues related to needs of youth and the programs and measures being taken by various organizations to make a difference.
It was an informative, interesting evening. Well done Winnipeg West.
The Family of Rotary
Shannon celebrated her birthday on Mothers' Day this year. The Windrim/Pankewich-daughter-son-in-law cooked their mothers a Mexican meal. Happy birthday, happy Mothers' Day.
Peter and Margaret Peters celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on Mothers' Day and Shreedhar and Shashikala celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary tomorrow. These events also came under the category of happy bucks. Congratulations to both couples. We wish you many more years of happiness and good health.
FELLOWSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
The Sergeant was well prepared with fines to levy and information to provide. Jeff was fined for being late but was happy to report that all flood damage has been repaired at their cabin and they plan to spend much time relaxing during the spring and summer.
The Sergeant offered appreciation and thanks for all mothers and their role in our lives.
We were then into quiz time where the questions were: how many Rotarians are their in the world (1.4 million); the number of annual volunteer hours Rotarians served globally (47 million); and the amount Rotary contributed last year in global projects ($333 million). Thousands of valueless points were offered for correct answers.
Other happy bucks: Russ and Donna have been married 21 years and Russ has signed on with Remax. Congratulations to you both.
Gary wished Nancy B well and noted that he and Jessie are into planting and replanting bigtime.
Jeff noted that he and Peter Peters have the same light fixture--it's the little things that count!!
Have a good week everyone.
