Acting President Pat Dell called on Peter Peters to introduce Guest Speaker Bob Durston, currently the District Rotary Foundation Chair (DRFC), a responsibility he has held since July 2014. We learned that Bob was invited to join the Rotary Club of Neepawa in February 1976. His commitment and service to Rotary in his Club, Community, District 5550 and beyond over these 44 plus years is impressive. Bob was President of his Club in 1985-86 and had a 2nd opportunity to fill the Presidential role a decade later. He began his stint as Club Secretary in 2002 and is serving in this 19th year
Bob served as District Short Term Youth Exchange Chair for 11 years, followed by 7 years as an Assistant Governor and is currently serving in his 3rd three year term as DRFC which now includes the role of District Grants Administrator. A supporter of all things Rotary, Bob is a Major Donor and a Benefactor of The Rotary Foundation.
Bob was welcomed as friend of Regina Eastview having been a consistent attender of our weekly ZOOM meetings since April. In his opening remarks he commended the Club for the consistent contributions to PolioPlus and the Annual Programs Fund (APF) of The Rotary Foundation (TRF). Contributions to PolioPlus during the October 2020 challenge along with the Club's annual commitment ensures the Club will receive the annual Rotary International Certificate of Appreciation for contributing more than $1,500.00 US. Bob then shared power point slides which indicated that over the 4 year period beginning in 2016-2017, our members contributed $20,919.80 US to the Annual Programs Fund. Over those same years Regina Eastview applied for and received District and Global Grants which total of $83,821.00 US. Regina Eastview is most fortunate we contributed $21,000 and were able to access nearly $83,000. This did not include the $30,200.00 the Government of Canada contributed to one of Eastview's projects as the result of an agreement TRF Canada had with the Canadian Government.
Bob concluded his presentation by commending the Club for its commitment to the service at the local and international levels. He indicated Regina Eastview was important to the success of the District's Ripple Effect Program and expressed the District's appreciation for the leadership role.
Thank you Bob Durston for sharing your knowledge and passion
for all things connected to The Rotary Foundation.
Bob Durston, DRFC

November 19 - World Toilet Day
World Toilet Day is a United Nations Observance that celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. It is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.
Coming up in Sick and Visiting it was reported by a non-medical person that Jeff Barber, “was nursing his knee”;
We were also reminded that our fearless leader Jean-Marc Nadeau is recuperating from shoulder surgery;
Looking forward to your return gentlemen.
