Rotarian Cory Daly was invited to introduce our Guest Speaker, Jacqueline Tisher,  Founder and CEO of Hope’s HomeJacqueline has a personal and professional connection to children with complex medical needs. As a Registered Nurse, Jacqueline worked in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with children who have complex medical needs. Her oldest daughter Acacia was born with a spina bifida and spent much of her childhood in the hospital. After caring for children who have complex medical needs personally and professionally, foster care became another avenue Jacqueline pursued. In 2003 her family opened their home and hearts to foster Hope, a child with medical needs, who lived only a short 10 months, all in the hospital.
Jacqueline had a dream. With the loss of Hope in 2003 and her daughter Acacia in 2011, Jacqueline made her personal journey one of imparting hope. She has seen this dream became reality. Hope’s Home provides daycare, respite and supportive living homes for children with complex medical needs in Regina, Prince Albert, Saskatoon and Warman.
Hope's Home has as its foundation a VISION where, "All children are loved and accepted members of their communities, regardless of any medical or developmental needs they may have."; and focuses on its MISSION, which states, "Hope’s Home creates opportunities through support for children with complex medical needs, typically developing children and their families in our community. Our employees are passionate about providing a safe, inclusive and developmentally appropriate environment for children where early learning is enhanced, children’s full potential is attained and family’s dreams become a reality." Their VISION and Mission are supported by a set of VALUES, which inspire confidence and compassion, stating, "At Hope’s Home we believe in family, love, respect, fun and providing exceptional care. Hope’s Home believes in the inherent value of each and every life".
Jacqueline Tisher,  Founder and CEO of Hope’s Home
Hope's Home is a non-profit organization and is registered with Canada Revenue Agency as a Charitable Organization.  They partner with 3 Ministries in the Provincial Government, namely: Education, Social Services and Health, and work closely with SHA in the province. The organization has an active fund raising component, annually raising approximately $1 Million. They have a place for volunteers, but at the present time, because of COVID - 19, this does not include client care.
Jacqueline Tisher opened our eyes to a vitally unique service in our City and Province and we are inspired by the "hope" you foster in the lives you touch every day.
