REGINA EASTVIEW CHANGEOVER MEETING
Past President Pat Dell served as MC of Regina Eastview Changeover meeting held at the Royal Regina Golf Course on the Sunday evening, July 13, 2025. In welcoming us to this venue Pat expressed the Club’s appreciation for the turn out, noting the 40 attendees consisted of 3 couples from the RC of Regina, and the remainder were Regina Eastview members and guests. She highlighted the fact that our Clubs have shared each other’s company at least two times each month over the past 2 years and this adjustment increased opportunity to share in each other projects and activities to Rotary’s advantage and the community's benefit.
President Al was invited to share in our Club’s Land Acknowledgement, which was followed by Allen Hillsden leading in the singing of our National Anthem. Karen Hoeft was invited to share in expressing our collective appreciation for goodness of this gathering and our thanks for the bounteousness on our table.
After Dinner, important end of the Rotary year components were acknowledged and celebrated. Pat Dell reclaimed the podium, and First Lady Karen Hoeft, received a bouquet as a THANK YOU for releasing President Al to the role of stick handling Regina Eastview through the last 2 years of service locally and around the world. Pat then called 1st Gentlemen Eghosa Amadasun, to the podium and presented him with a bouquet for the anticipated loaning of President Jayna to the task of leading our Rotary Club through the coming 2 years. In each presentation, first Karen and then Eghosa, the recipients received wild applause. Karen Hoeft was then formally introduced and inducted into the RC of Regina Eastview as our Club's newest member, membership she previously enjoyed when the Hoeft's lived in Winnipeg.
President Al, in advance of thanking the Club for the opportunity to serve as President, called Peter Peters to the podium and presented Peter with a pin to recognize Peter's 55 years of service through Rotary. Peter reciprocated by pinning a 35 year service pin on Al's lapel. Al then turned his attention to recognizing the Rotarians who served with him as Officers and Directors of the Club. Having just returned from the Rotary International Convention in Calgary, where President Al had invested in a great number of large, very colourful shopping bags, which he spread out on the flour and invited these mature Directors scramble about these offerings and snatch the one they most appreciated. Once satisfied with their selection and the prize in hand, the officials lined up for a Photo-0p shown somewhere in these pages.
President Al Hoeft, thank you for 2 years of classy appreciated leadership.
May the boxed gavel remind you of Rotary's bottom up approach to leadership.
THANK YOU!
President Jayna Amadasun
Receives Regina Eastview President Pin
President Jayna began by telling us of her experience in exploring membership in Regina Eastview and specifically the encouragement and support she received from Allen Hillsden and John Van Koll. She talked about the value of going beyond joining a committee and the importance involved with what is going on in the committee’s activity and seeing the benefits of your work and its impact in the recipients, the beneficiaries of our work. The opportunity to meet the people you are helping. Every interaction deepens ones connection with the community. This is the building of friendships with all, changing lives for good. In keeping with the current year’s Presidential theme of Unite for Good. President Jayna invited us to look for opportunities ‘to do good’, to raise those ideas with others in the Club creating a common passion for success. This passion sets the stage for building a stronger structure taking our program to new heights and levels of effectiveness.
President Jayna Amadasun
President Jayna spoke about attending the International Convention in Calgary, referring to it as a ‘truly life changing experience’ and encouraged members to visit My Rotary on Rotary’s Website and explore the information on the Learning Library. Because the 2025-2026 Rotary year our focus will continue to be on increasing our membership so let us learn all we can about membership building and put in place a plan to achieve this end. To do this it will be important to build a strong partnership with Regina’s Business Community. To better understand the needs in our community, and what we need to do to assist in addressing the challenges faced. Our President encouraged us to keep our eyes open and our ears unstopped so we see, hear and respond in harmony to enhance the lives of all who make this community home. In concluding her comments, President Jayna invited us, should we become disinterested in our Regina Eastview experience, to please share your concern with her, so efforts can be identified and steps taken to reignite our individual and collective commitment to this business of Service Above Self.
