Regina Eastview’s 2nd gathering at Regina Public Library’s Sunrise Branch on August 27, 2026the perfect location for this story-telling adventure. President Jayna set the stage with tables in a circle formation so hearing and seeing were key. Jayna reminded us of RI President Yinka’s message in the July issue of ROTARY: ‘Don't just tell people about the projects you have run or the funds you have raised. Tell them how Rotary has shaped who you are. Those personal stories open doors inspire new members, and reminded all of us why we are here.”
Using a Rotarian Storytelling Guide, attendees selected from a list of 24 questions their experience in being drawn into Rotary and kept them involved in Rotary. Eghosa responded to the question who invited you into Rotary and why do you continue in Rotary. Eghosa told us of a time when he was setting up his medical practice in a rural Saskatchewan community. To become visible in the community Eghosa had the opportunity to attend the community library and read to the children. He did this once each week– it was a way of introducing himself to the community. This rule applies to being in Rotary, involvement is key. Eghosa indicated being part of International Service Projects Committee and having responsibility for ShelterBox puts him in a place where getting the Regina community connected with families living in disastrous conditions.
