At the December 17, 2020 meeting President Jean-Marc congratulated Peter & Margaret Peters on their support of The Rotary Foundation Annual Program Fund. In addition we learned that Clarence Krause had achieved Paul Harris + 4 status. It kept getting better, when on December 24th Jean-Marc accompanied by Secretary Allen Hillsden, in his photographer status, toured Regina delivering and presenting TRF Status pins at the Krause and Peters' houses. However, not only there but also to the Schwan house to present Richard with his Paul Harris + 4 pin.
By way of introduction Richard Schwan is the youthful member of this group having joined the Rotary Club Regina Eastview in 2008. He notes an earlier stint with Regina Eastview, but stepped away to spend more time with their young family. Richard served as our Club's President in 2017-2018, the year Peter Neufeldt served as District Governor of District 5550. Being President of the "District Governor's Home Club" is no small feat, as one has to be really, really good but not better than the Governor.
Clarence Krause joined Regina Eastview in 1983 and has been a contributing member to a variety of roles which tended to fit with his career choices in financial / management within the Federal Government. Part of Clarence's career related to work with CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency) which provided opportunity to monitor CIDA projects in Sudan, Zambia, Tanzania and Kenya, which "opens opportunities" to appreciate and mimic TRF's commitment to "doing good in the world".
Peter Peters joined Rotary in 1970 in Nipawin and has been privileged over the ensuing years to be part of 3 more Clubs - Melfort, Saskatoon Nutana, and since 1982, Regina Eastview. Rotary has opened many doors and provided untold number of service opportunities at the Club, District and Zone levels. Being selected to serve as the District Governor in 1999-2000, provided a never to be forgotten experience for Peter & Margaret which re-enforced their commitment to The Rotary Foundation.
