Thank you for considering sponsoring a student to this year’s Adventures in Agriculture Program. Regina Eastview is honoured by the support this program has received in the last 23 years and are humbled that you entrust your children to our care. We can accommodate up to 24 students and in order to welcome your student(s) you are urged to contact your high school and provide them with details (or the poster) as soon as possible. At the same time it would be critical for school officials to notify students about the program to make sure candidates are selected and their applications are in place before the deadline date.
Sponsoring Rotary Club Responsibilities
- Payment of a registration fee of $325.00 per student;
- Arrange and cover the cost of the student’s transportation to and from Regina;
- Final selection and approval of school recommended student(s) who will attend; and,
- Maintain good communication lines with students and their schools.
Student Selection Criteria
- An enthusiasm for learning about agriculture.
- A broad interest in the many and varied aspects of agriculture. The program is much more than a visit to the Canadian Western Agribition.

- The personal skills necessary to participate well in a group.
- Behavioral maturity.
- Interest in pursuing an agriculture-related career.
- Agree to report back to their school’s student body and local Rotary Club.
- Agree to be available for local publicity.
- Indicate willingness to be billeted and participate in all events.
IMPORTANT TIMELINES
Applications including student photo must be received by the Adventures in Agriculture 2019 committee no later than November 5, 2019. Confirmation notices will be emailed to students and sponsoring Rotary Clubs once all information is provided and fees confirmed. Program information and an updated schedule of events for the program will be available online on our website. Cancellations with full rebate will be accepted until November 12, 2019 and deduction of unrecoverable costs will be made after that date.
APPLICATION PROCESS
There are three parts to student applications:
- Booking Form for Rotary Clubs – allows clubs to register with the program as sponsoring clubs. Student forms are online this year. We will forward a copy to you for your Club’s consideration and internal processes – but we need to know where to send them. This form also allows clubs to reserve spots for students they plan to send even before they know who the student(s) might be. The form is available on our website as a printed form or an online form.
- Student Application Form – for students to complete, providing their contact information, biographical information, and a few questions about their experience and expectations of the program. This form is available online only.
- Parent Form – for the parent(s) of students selected to attend, providing contact information and confirming their permission for their child to attend. This form is available online only.
If your club wishes to make a reserved booking (which is recommended to ensure availability), please:
- Complete the Booking Form on the website, and e-mail to us, or use the online form; and,
- Prepay the $325.00 registration fee by cheque payable to “Regina Eastview Rotary Foundation Inc.”, sending it to the mailing address noted below.
- Reserved prepaid bookings will be guaranteed until November 5. If a completed application is not received by that date the booking may be cancelled.
